वैसे तो भूमिहार वंश की उत्पत्ति के सबन्ध के इतिहास को प्राचीन किंवदन्तियों के आधार पर अनेक विद्वानों ने लिपिबद्ध करने का प्रयास किया है। ऎसा माना जाता है कि भगवान परशुराम जी ने क्षत्रियों को पराजित कर जो ज़मीन थी, उसे ब्राह्मणों को दे दिया, जिसके बाद ब्राह्मणों ने पूजा-पाठ का परम्परागत पेशा छोड़ जमींदारी शुरू कर दी और बाद में युद्ध में प्रवीनता भी हासिल कर ली थी। ये ब्राह्मण ही भूमिहार ब्राह्मण कहलाये। और तभी से परशुराम जी को भूमिहारो का जनक और भूमिहार-ब्राह्मण वंश का प्रथम सदस्य माना जाता है।...

In a novel initiative on the occasion of Ram Navmi, the Mahavir Mandir Trust, which runs the revered Mahavir Mandir, has offered totally free  treatment to all cancer patients up to the age of 18 years and children who are born with holes in hearts. Trust secretary Kishor Kunal said hitherto the cancer patients got highly subsidised treatment at the Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, but now it would be totally free....
